Welcome to Our Place
Inside, you’ll step into a cosy living space with a dining area where you can sit back and relax. The kitchen’s fully kitted out with everything you’ll need, so whether you fancy a cuppa or a full home-cooked meal, you’re all set.
There's a comfortable double bedroom and a snug little bunk room, plus a handy shower room to freshen up after your day out exploring.
Outdoors
Step outside and you’ll find your own private patios – perfect for that first morning brew or catching a bit of sunshine in the garden.
And then there’s our Folly – it’s a lovely spot to gather round the fire with family or friends, the kind of place where memories are made.
Location
We’re lucky to be tucked away in a village full of countryside walks, ideal for a gentle stroll or a good stretch of the legs. Just ten minutes in the car gets you to shops, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants.

- The Faith Museum
If you’ve a car, you’ll be able to reach places like High Force, Barnard Castle, and Beamish Museum – all between half an hour and an hour away. Public transport is about, with trains, Cable’s taxis and Uber in Bishop Auckland, but driving’s definitely easiest.
Access and Parking
The lodge itself is all on one level, with 3 steps up at the front and easier, low-level access at the back. It’s not really suitable for wheelchairs or for little ones under 2.
We have secure, private parking for two cars, with the gates locked up at night so you can rest easy.
Pet-Friendly
We’re dog lovers ourselves, so you’re welcome to bring up to 2 dogs to join you on your adventures.
When You Arrive
As we live on-site, we’ll be nearby if you need us for anything, but we’ll also give you your space so you can enjoy a peaceful and private stay.
